Private Practice Policy

As a privately practicing specialist, Dr Sarah Broderick’s consultation fees are based on the Australian Medical Association (AMA) guidelines and are higher than the Medicare Schedule Fee. This is not a bulk billing clinic, and there will be an out-of-pocket cost for consultations. Payment is required on the day of your appointment. Medicare rebates are available for most consultation services.

All surgical procedures are performed in private hospitals. A detailed quote for the surgeon’s fees will be provided prior to your procedure. Please note that anaesthetist and hospital fees are billed separately, and you will need to contact these providers directly for individual quotes. Medicare does not offer rebates for private hospital admission costs. Patients without private health insurance should be aware that hospital fees will be entirely out-of-pocket.

Dr Broderick does not participate in No Gap or Known Gap schemes through private health funds.

Prescription Policy

Requests for prescriptions outside of a consultation are assessed at Dr Broderick’s discretion and may incur an administration fee. For ongoing or routine medications, your GP should be your first point of contact. They are best placed to manage repeat prescriptions unless your treatment plan requires specialist oversight.

Cancellation Policy & Failure to Confirm

Due to high demand and limited appointment availability, Broderick Medical operates with a strict confirmation policy to ensure timely access to care for all patients.

Appointment confirmations are required in advance. If your appointment is not confirmed, it will be released and offered to someone on our waitlist.

You will receive:

  • A confirmation SMS when your appointment is first booked

  • A reminder SMS 5 days prior to your appointment

  • A final reminder SMS 3 days prior, if the appointment remains unconfirmed

If no confirmation is received after the third message, our team will attempt to contact you by phone. If we are unable to reach you or receive confirmation, your appointment will be cancelled. You will be sent an email advising you to contact the clinic to reschedule.

We appreciate your understanding and support in helping us care for the wider community.

Cancellation of Procedures Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule your surgery, please contact the office at least three working days before the scheduled procedure. This allows time to coordinate with the hospital, anaesthetist, and assisting surgical team and to offer the time slot to another patient.

Late cancellations may incur a cancellation fee of 20% of the deposit paid.

Aesthetics Appointment Cancellation Policy

Your Broderick Aesthetics appointment may require a deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable.

If you do not attend your appointment (no-show), and a deposit was not necessary when you made your appointment, a $100 no-show fee will apply and must be settled before any future appointments can be scheduled.

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours may result in forfeiture of your deposit.

No-Gap or Known-Gap Payment Arrangements

Please note that our practice does not participate in no-gap or known-gap payment arrangements with private health insurers.

As a result, out-of-pocket expenses may apply for services provided. We are committed to transparency in all aspects of your care and will provide a detailed fee breakdown prior to any procedure.

If you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact our office for clarification. We also recommend speaking directly with your health insurer to better understand your level of cover and any potential personal costs.
